Plymouth’s Events Diary 2019

There are a wealth of events to attend this summer in Plymouth, you and your family are sure to never be short of something to do! We are so lucky to live in a vibrant city that creates these amazing events and opportunites for us all to attend. Here at Harbourside, we wanted to try and help you by listing some of the key events coming up this season as a guide! So get your diaries out and be sure to plan these dates in!

Plymouth Pirate’s Weekend 11th- 12th May

Get your bounty out, your pirate hat and eye patch on and be ready to be surrounded by cries of “Ahoy There my hearty!” and  “Batton down the hatches”. Plymouth’s Pirate Weekend is always a weekend fill with fun and laughter for the whole family. From a Pirate parade, to a pirate trail, exploring onboard tall ships and listening to Shanty bands- you be sure to have a great time!

Lord Mayor’s Festival Saturday 25th May

This annual tradition has taken place in Plymouth for many years. It is the day in which we welcome the new Lord Mayor into their role.  This year’s theme is a futuristic one and looks set to be a great day!

Flavour Fest 31st May to 2nd June

In it’s 16th year, Flavour Fest returns to Plymouth’s City Centre. This is the South west’s largest free food and drink festival. There will be a large range of food and drink delights to taste as always showcasing the best of the South West!

National Fish & Chip Day 7th June

A day close to our own heart and sole! National Fish & Chip day has been gaining momentum in Fish & Chip shops up and down the entire country. It is a day in which we can celebrate the Nation’s favourite dish and we look forward to welcoming you into our shops on the big day!

Ocean City Blues N Jazz Festival 9th to 11th August

This great musical treat of a festival returns to the Barbican for its third year running. It promises to be three days filled with the sounds of the blues and jazz and even better, again it is a free event for all to enjoy! Maybe you could come and get your fish & chip supper from us to enjoy outside, whilst listening to the music!

Plymouth Armed Forces Day Saturday 29th June

The Plymouth Armed Forces Day is always a truly proud and memorable day when we can celebrate those who are currently serving in the Armed Forces community, or have served, veterans, cadets and their families. It is a day filled with immeasureable experiences of life in the Armed Forces.  It is absolutely one not to be missed!

British Fireworks Championships 14th & 15th August

Returning for another magical and undoubtedly spectacular year are the British Fireworks Championships. Always a night to treasure and filled with so much fun and anticipation of what the show in the sky will bring! Another great excuse to have fish & chips for your supper too 😉

Plymouth Seafood Festival 14th -15th September

Returning for the 8th year running, is the wonderful Plymouth Seafood Festival. Plymouth is the first city in the world to be awarded the Fish2Fork Blue City status for its commitment to sourcing sustainable fish so this is a really important weekend for the City. Harbourside Fish & Chip is also very commited to sustainable fishing and we were in the top three at the National Fish and Chip awards this year for this. Not forgetting, we won the award for being the UK’s number 1 Healthiest Fish & Chip shop! So do pop by to see us whilst enjoying the shows of top chefs in the Cookery Threatre, and the atmosphere of the Barbican for this fine weekend!
